Many beginning photographers feel that studio work is complex and requires a vast array of expensive equipment. In this workshop you will learn how to create high quality photographs both efficiently and cost effectively. If you want to produce great images of crafts, apparel, jewelry, flowers, food items, and so much more for your business, then this course will empower you!
Product photography is a vital part of advertising, whether that be brochures, print ads, websites, or even billboards. You want your images to reflect the quality and value of what you have to offer. In this class we will discuss the importance of branding and uniformity in photography in additional to all of the basics like lighting, equipment, and set-up. We will cover practical techniques that do not require highly technical equipment or a large investment.

Your product images need to make a good first impression on your customers. Once you have completed this workshop you will be on your way to perfect product photography. As you gain experience in set-up, backgrounds, lighting, and editing images you will feel more confident and realize that studio photography isn’t as complex as it seemed!
When scheduling please be prepared discuss the types of products you will need to photograph. Bring one or two of the discussed items to class and if timing and space in class allows we will use your items for some hands-on practice.
To enroll in this class you should already know all of your camera settings and be familiar with exposure and the basics of controlling your camera’s settings in manual modes. - Fundamentals of using a light tent or light box
- Tricks and tips for phenomenal photos
- Product only images vs. In-context images
- Shooting in RAW
- Post-processing and Histograms
- Optimizing images
- Creating product photo guidelines (style sheets)
